With the theme of the Serve, Participate and Lead , RC Pashupati-ktm started it’s Rota year 2008-09. Leadership and Participation has been a regular projects of the club by which we have been recognized and well appreciated. Rotaract were known for it’s small scale projects that was beneficial for themselves but this time we changed ourselves for those who need a support and care. Being a group of students we prepared our self to look after the health of local people, who can’t spend few ruppes to treat themselves. To make our dream real, we selected a village approx 28km away from the capital. We initially though it was almost easy to walk 28 km that’s even with the transportation facility. But once we started the our journey we realizedwhy the village people hardly come to city and highly sophisticated place like Kathmandu. In the muddyand dangerous to drive roadways we went to the local village Thangshingh , Nuwakot were we were welcomed like someone they have been expecting for a long time. The villager gives us hospitality that was truly praiseworthy. We stared our campaign to treat the villagers from the same day and during the period many of us realized the true sprit of service. We come to know that hundreds of the people were suffering from different diseases that they have were keeping from 5-6 months and to treat such people was a dream and a pride that can’t be defined. With need of the local people we distributed the medicine to local people and a certain amount to the Health Post. It was a last lesson that taught us all how desperately those people were in need of us and we felt yourself lucky that we served those people with our capabilities. At last it was a effort that was made success by the wonderful effort of the club members, the group of medical officers and local volunteers whose work was commendable.
