On behalf of Rotaract Club of Kathmandu Mid-Town , I would like to request all of you to vote for Shanti Sewa Griha.

Shanti Sewa Griha is a self-sufficient society for leprosy victims and other social outcasts.

Shanti Sewa Griha - meaning "Peace, Help and Home" in Nepali - was set up to help the beggars around one of the biggest temples in the capital Kathmandu.It started with 13 leprosy affected people back in 1992 but now it is home for thousands of people. As well as medical care, Shanti also offers employment through tailoring, handicrafts and organic gardening. Even the most severely disabled are given some useful role.

And our mentor Rtn. Dr. Chandra Lekha Tuladhar is in touch with the organization for past several years.

I am writing to you to inform you that this April, Shanti Sewa Griha applied for participating in the BBC World Challenge 2008 Competition. This is a global competition aimed at identifying projects or small businesses from around the world that have shown enterprise and innovations (see www.theworldchallenge.co.uk for more information).



From more than 700 applicants, Shanti Sewa Griha have got the honour being selected as one of only 12 finalists. This is an honorable achievement! Moreover, the BBC has indicated that the Shanti stands a good chance of winning the competition and only from Nepal.

yes dude i have already voted and i m also requesting my frns to vote 4 nepal...every nepali should vote for Shanti Sewa griha not only because it is from nepal also because it is running 4 good cause.
